The Indiana State Fair started a couple of days ago and although we have zero interest in attending, we were definitely excited to take Thomas on the Fisher's train that takes us to the fair. Unfortunately, due to heat and naps we knew we needed to take the early train down so that we could take the early train back and be home in time for 1pm naps.
So, at 8:45am on a Sunday morning we were in Fishers and ready to ride the "train car" (Thomas speak).
It was nice and cool that early (60s). Thomas was very excited. James was more interested in the people watching.

Thomas and daddy riding the train. Thankfully, it wasn't packed.

I can't believe James is nearly 11 months old! I caught him crawling halfway up the stairs (climbing them as good as his 2.5 year old brother).

We got to the fair at 9:30am and the vendors will still setting up for the day. There was hardly anyone there- which was fine with us. We knew we didn't have much time before the 11am train took us back to Fishers.
Below is the Midway but the rides were all closed.

We knew that James was probably going to miss his morning nap unless I carried him on my back. It was like having a furnace on my back as the temperatures crept up to the high 70s. Too hot!!

We had just enough time to walk past the food to the Swine building, see a couple of pigs (Thomas called them cows because they were so big), walk to the Midway, then turn around and walk back and eat some food. Then we had to book it to make the 11am train. James was conked while riding on my back, but perked right up on the train.

Thomas, on the other hand, completely missed the train ride back.

The train was nice and empty. I tried getting a family photo but it was nearly impossible.

All in all, it went very well.
